My after forty face felt far more comfortable than anything I lived with previoulsy. Self-confidence was a powerful beauty-potion; I looked better because I felt better. Failure and grief as well as success and love had served me well. Finally, I was tapping into that most hard-won of youth dews: WISDOM. – Nancy Collins

What awesome words Nancy Collins wrote here in my book written by Sarah Ban Breathnach called “Simple Abundance”.

I can say I agree wholeheartedly with Ms. Collins in that I like the me I am far more than the me I was as a child or a teen or even a newly wed. Every stage of my life was completely different but as my life has gone on my health has improved dramatically and the medicine I take for epilepsy works the best of any ever prescribed and I think better and am able to do so much more.

I am also more confident, knowledgable and know about so many more things and therefore the world looks different to me now at 52 years young. It is as though I saw the world through a keyhole and only saw a fraction of what was to come in the years ahead and as the years went on I found the key and opened the door!

It is a spiritual journey day-by-day in calendar format through the year, giving you ideas of what things to do as the seasons change, you change your ideas to newer, positive ones.

I found this great book again at a used book store I go to called BookOff for $1!

Laughter Is….

Laughter….the most civilized music in the world. –

Peter Ustinov

From “Dear Me” (1977) Chapter 3

When was the last time you watched a Charlie Chaplin movie? He was the creator and producer of countless films in the silent movie era. They really weren’t silent because music (usually a pianola girl playing piano) took the place of the audio sound and voice tracks. That was from a time in history that will never return.

Charlie Chaplin wrote many of the pieces that you heard playing on his movies.

Watch one and LAUGH. Bring your friends and loved ones together and LAUGH TOGETHER. It keeps you young.

I love people who make me laugh….

When was the last time you watched a good comedy or did something light hearted? You need to from time to time. Doing such things gives balance to your life and a release of all the stress from your day to day problems.
You will find by adding levity to your life you’ll have a fresh attitude about the more pressing things you are dealing with.

Things will be easier and you will accomplish things faster.
Laughter keeps you YOUNG most of all and gives you a healthy attitude towards life.

Keep Youth Inside Your Pocket Like You’re Holding Tinkerbell

Fanciful Displays at the Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Keep Youth Inside You Like You Are Holding Tinker Bell

The photo here was taken at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada nearly two years ago come August. It doesn’t feel like it, but I remember how in awe I was when I walked in and saw the beautiful displays they created there. It was worth the work they put into it setting it up. The designers, artists and many talented people accomplished their main objective of putting a warm and magical kind of feeling inside everyone’s heart and putting smiles on everybody’s faces who saw it all.

I am sure we all remember the movie Robin Hood and how Tinkerbell flew around with her iridescent wings and that sparkling wand of hers. Always keep the joy inside you, the laughter and that special “spark” because it keeps you young. Don’t listen to what others say about “acting your age”, unless you are 80 wearing a mini skirt! Do what you know makes you happy and keep the joy alive. When you do it, it is contagious and it affects everything you do.

I know I am still a kid inside but my intelligence tells me I am far from one. The great thing about life is to take the wonder, the joy and the awe of when you were a child and carry it around with you like Tinkerbell in your pocket. Never lose sight of it, and hold on to it dear because as long as you possess a zeal and passion for living, you will never truly age.

Take to living and life a youthful attitude and don’t ever let yourself grow old in your mind. That is where youth truly resides. It isn’t about age or how many years you are on this earth. It is about what you bring to life, how much you “jazz it up” and give it a special sparkle when you want into a room. When you love what you are doing it rubs off on others. Be around people who are contributing something wonderful to the world, and so it will rub off on you. Associate with believers, doers, achievers and creators. People who do things nobody has ever done before-because they can and they have something to say. Associate with people who want to leave behind a legacy and help others. Those who want to right the wrongs in life for others or fix the state of affairs so everyone can life a better life.

Those kinds of things make me have joy and I love people who think in that way. Life will never be dull or boring when you surround yourself with the topics and people you love most. If you don’t know what those things are, devote some time thinking about it.

When you do that, it has the fringe benefit of automatically attracting those who are creative and people to your being and your persona. Who you are will attract the right people to you when you are true to yourself and follow your dreams and learn everything you can about being successful in the topic you desire and you have natural talent in.
Keep doing what you love and don’t retire because you will always learn, be around people and your life will never be dull.-

Young Sea & Big Expanse of Blue

Photographic Word Montage by Paulette Le Pore Motzko and Carl Sandburg

The sea is never still.

It pounds on the shore

Restless as a young heart,

Hunting.

The sea speaks

And only the stormy hearts

Know what it says:

It is the face

        of a rough mother speaking.

The sea is young.

One storm cleans all the hoar

And loosens the age of it.

I hear it laughing, reckless.

They love the sea,

Men who ride it

And know they will die

Under the salt of it

Let only the young come,

Says the sea.

Let them kiss my face

And hear me.

I am the last word

And I tell

Where storms and stars come from.
