Two Passionate, Love Filled, Hope Filled Poems from Ramon Loyola

I met Ramon Loyola on Word Press when I was searching the world over to add new content to the writers work lab etc.
I saw his extraordinary poetry and read his blog and how excited he was (as I would be), seeing his books in a book store. I could relate. I really loved what I saw. I asked him if I could print two of his most hopeful positive poems/prose on either Totally Inspired Mind or The Writer’s Work Lab-and he loved my idea.
When I find something wonderful, something special, that has that has a unique quality to it, I can share it with the world. And so I did.

If And When by Ramon Loyola
When you love,
Let the touch feel your warmth
So that it burns like a flame
In the bosom’s deepest cauldron,
If you love,
Memorize the face that stares,
Its lines drawing all meaning
To all the desires revealed,
When you love,
Let the eyes see your heart
So that it remembers like child
In the mind’s most profound innocence,

If you love,
Cherish the oneness that keeps,
Its grace denying all weakness
To the soul’s unknown yearnings,
When you love (finally),
Let the kiss seal your fate
So that it binds like a chain
In life’s undying memory,

Don’t Let It Go by Ramon Loyola

When you feel the warmth of the sun
On your goose-bumped arm
Like the feeling of a frenetic hand
The fingers nimble on your tingling skin
Where the sensation of gladness
Overwhelms you like that grand vista
Of a fresh meadow
Green and lush and
Misty and wide
Don’t let it go.
The feeling is real
It can only get better,
Don’t let it go.

Run up to the sharpest corner
At the end of the street
And grab the sun
Resting in the expanse of your palm
Don’t’ let it go

It is as real as the veins
In your clenched hand
When you find the child again
Lurking deep in side
But rearing its head
Peeking through the small hole
On the forbidding fence
Between sorrow and bliss
When you seek for
The small joys
As you plan in the rain
Don’t let it go

The moment is clear
As vivid as the sky above
Don’t let it go

It will slip by if you do
Glide along past you like a stranger
Who cares more for dire untruths
Don’t let it go
It will leave you insignificant if you do
Undone in a crowded room
When you fall
Madly, truly and ever deeply
Where the hurt is inevitable
Where the heart is soured by
The insincere laughter
The dishonest words
Despite the piercing pain
The opposite of love
And heartfelt tenderness
Don’t let it go
The eyes hold it in
The only truth in that look
Don’t let it go
The memory will fade
The regret will set in
Making you forget the face
The eyes the skin the cheeks
Don’t let it go
It will fade forever
Gone to the light
The water is deep
The air is thin
Hold your breath
Wave your arms above your head
Let your hair get wet
Freeze your toes in the frosty morning
Let the sun scorch your flesh
Laugh like nothing else matters
Shout to the top of your lungs
Weep silently and weep some more

When you have tasted all
The nectars of pleasure
When pain has racked your bones
Has broken your heart into smithereens
And has made you steel for peace
And serenity has tempered your soul
And has stumped the chaos that confused you
That rumbled in the earth
Keep it close
Don’t let it go
The firm paths are showing you
Like the sun guides the flowers to bloom
Don’t let it go
The answer is leading you
Clasping you tight like a lover in heat
Seeing your light at last
And when you find yourself finally
Don’t let it go
It is fleeting but it will stay
As surely as the promise of mornings

If you have epilepsy like I do, and even though your medicine works most of time, but you’re not feeling that great because you overdid it -like I did today….
Say this prayer.

If you have cancer or some other life-threatening disease….say this prayer. You will find strength and hope.

If you have osteoarthritis or other crippling ailment…say this prayer.

If you have Alzheimer’s disease or any other didability- physical or hidden- say this very short inspiring prayer I found on the app ABIDE.

You will feel better and I hopr you find strength, as I did.

Mattie’s Writing, Advocacy, & Honors – Mattie J.T. Stepanek Foundation

Mattie J.T Stepanek was a rare soul that walks the earth only once to inspire and illustrate with every written word how strong someone could be, in spite of being diagnosed with a rare for of muscular dystrophy.
He touched the face of God in 2004, but his words live on and in his foundation and other things he created to inspire and give peace to others.

One of the seven books Maddie J.T. Stepanek wrote in his very short but extraordinary life.

Disabled dog runs for the first time thanks to 3D-printed legs | The Verge

Look what one lady’s dream of seeing this dog who was born without two front paws-run did. She had a dream of seeing him run and brought that vision to a caring team of  prosthetic designers working very advanced 3D computer software and caring about seeing one sweet dog run again.

See what can happen when one person acts as a catalyst for change? Miracles happen.

This story brought tears to my eyes because I love animals and it was so wonderful to see this sweet dog happy.

Independence Day 2014

Tomorrow is Independence Day, and if you are like many Americans, you have already bought a wealth of fire crackers, sparklers and other fireworks to celebrate the day.

Many simply prefer to quietly contemplate the thought of what it truly means to be an American in The United States of America.

If my soul could hold a sparkler or candle it would for the countries who are still fighting for their freedoms, no matter how small.

I salute the many veterans who have sacrificed their lives and limbs to allow me and you and all your neighbors to hold those sparklers and to enjoy the festivities.

God bless America and I wish you all, no matter what your religious beliefs, to be safe, be healthy and enjoy tomorrow, however you celebrate.

Home at Last

We go through things in life that have us wondering why it all happened or we needed to go through these things. As we get older, the types of experiences number and we go through some trials, some tribulations and others-just puzzling with no real answers why.

What can we do when these things occur?

Keep going!

As Winston Churchill said: “What do you do when you go through hell? Keep on going! Keep going!”

I am typing with both hands now, and though it doesn’t feel like it did before and my left wrist is still sore-it moves without surgery! And though my index and ring fingers are sore when I type, I am typing back at my 80 w.p.m. and in time-I know it will get better.

My idea of occupational therapy is making homemade bread, typing, cooking, playing piano and just watching, very carefully, how I pick up things.

My upright rosewood grand I will play again hopefully soon…

I want to thank all of my many dedicated readers who said prayers for me that my wrist would mend itself and my fingers would work again, as before way me-because that prayer came true and was answered.

I also want to thank the many who have followed along, Like Paton Place-me, my living situation and who prayed I would find a wonderful place to live.

I found it and yes, I am home at last.

I am now a personal chef and caregiver for a wonderful lady in Laguna Woods, CA and all of her grown up children feel I am their Answered Prayer. They are mine and it is so peaceful, quiet and serene here. I am doing the same thing I did for my mom and dad but this time being appreciated and respected and compensated for it all!

She is my new found friend and the look in her eyes is one of genuine appreciation and love and kindness. When her son Don brought me to see the place I would be living and to meet his mother Mary Ann yesterday morning-I reached out my hand and said, “It is nice to meet you Mary Ann; I have heard so much about you!” She looked a me with a big smile and opened her arms up to give me a huge hug instead. We both wear the same Miraculous Medal around our necks and her mother prayed to the Blessed Virgin Mary-just as my mother Ramona still does. Aida had a smile like the sunshine and was also warm and kind and it was so wonderful to meet a family who so genuinely work with one another and care about their mother as much as I cared about mine.

My big bedroom overlooks a large balcony and this morning I was able to hear the birds from the evergreens planted all over the 18 miles of what is called Laguna Woods Village-sing their morning serenade.

There are shuttles that go in and out of Laguna Woods Village all day long-and since I don’t drive for medical reasons-it is like heaven to me. No more walking a mile or more in the heat, waiting an hour for a bus-from OCTA! I walk down the stairs and there are benches scattered all over that will take me virtually anywhere I would want to go!

Anyway, all I know is my blood pressure has dropped since moving here, I have met countless nice and helpful people here. For instance, I was trying to go to church with Mary Ann this morning but had no idea when the Laguna Woods Village buses ran. With a place as large as this, it is no wonder I feel lost here! I got a map of the area and opened it up and it was still confusing. I kept asking people how to get a bus back to the Laguna Woods Village area and ran across Mary and David-a handsome sweet couple coming out of J.C. Penny’s where I was told to wait for the bus-but I knew the person who told me was wrong! Turns out, I guess I am a good  “people reader” or have great hunches because Mary and David were my neighbors! Mary has the prettiest eyes and beautiful, curly, short hair and David, even though he was walking with a walker, with a hurt knee-made time for me-and said, “Oh, let’s just take her there Mary!”

I think these two really had wings hidden under their shirts! I know there was no random chance here, as sure as I know I felt a miracle was lurking on Craig’s List the day I found the ad that changed my life and Mary Ann’s. As much joy as Mary Ann has added to my life, in the short span since I have known her, I hope to add quality to her days as well.

I am looking forward to bringing in my desk and swiveling reclining chairs in on my  balcony and getting a little table to set my coffee cup down when I listen to God put on a Morning Serenade of birds here.
Here in what I call my Writing Room….or Outdoor Office

It will be nice to bring in a few of my beloved books I miss, make meals with my Bobby Flay fire red cooking pans-that will cook meals for Mary Ann and hopefully her children and their children. Little did I know something like that would happen when I bought them. I only knew-with the way I take care of things, they would outlive me-like my rosewood grand piano.

Just when you feel like giving up-DON’T!

Just when you think you are forsaken-PRAY!

Open your heart up and lift your hands upward and pray the prayer of a despondent one, and then use the brain God gave you and do everything in your power to CHANGE YOUR SITUATION.

Chances are, a miracle will happen, just like it did to me.

My Wishes For My 429 Followers on Totally Inspired Mind

Thanks to my 429 followers who tune in to Totally Inspired Mind: Where Positive Minds Congregate.

I came down to do some banking at my local bank and ran into two of my friends today. I am cheering that he get a job soon so he can pay his bills and his life can once again resemble “normalcy”, as I call it.

I met a lady named Jessica that was dealing with the complications of dementia with her 100 year old father. I bought her dad a cup of coffee, because he was sitting doing nothing for the longest time, while his daughter did his shopping. Jessica & I shared contact info and I am going to give her the url to “Ramona’s Alzheimer’s Disease Daily” that I named after my mother with Alzheimer’s disease.
Enlightenment shows options and if Jessica learns one new thing in reading the newsletter to help her dad, it was worth telling her.

We all go through phases in our lives for different reasons, testing us, strengthening us and building us into more courageous, strong individuals.

My wish for all who read Totally Inspired Mind is that you have good health. Without that, even the most simple daily tasks can feel enormous. If you don’t have good health, that you find a good doctor and learn everything you can about your diagnosis/disability to empower yourself to new options.

I want you all to know love, if not from your family, then from the people who have become your extended family.

I hope you all have a home or somewhere to sleep at night that you call home at a minimum.

I wish that each and every follower-all 429 of you- have a stable money stream that comes in without fail. The more $ you have the less stress you have, so this is a big one with me.
After the basics are taken care of like food and shelter and health, I hope each of you make use of every ability you have and enjoy the work you do.

I also want only great and extraordinary things to come into your lives and enable you to accomplish things you have only dreamed of.

No matter what your belief system, I wish that you never lose sight of your full potential and never lose hope in humanity or yourself.

That is my wish for you all.

Looking For Ideas For Totally Inspired Mind

Paulette Le Pore Motzko here at an Italian restaurant with friends…
I wanted to ask YOU my readers and followers, what ideas you have on features for this site.

I will be featuring young, positive, goal-oriented people who know what their passion is in life and they set goals to achieve them. They place education high on their list, care about the environment, and can see what they want to do not only a year from now but ten years from now…and perhaps even 20 years from now.

I met such a person yesterday named Luis when I was at Starbucks yesterday and you will be seeing a story about him after he passes his nursing exam to become an RN.

If you know of a person who is one of these positive young people who genuinely care about not just themselves, but others, and have a kind heart let me know!

Tell me about him or her and why you think writing about them would be a good thing.

Kids and teens have tons of peer pressure to smoke, drink, look at porno and use abrasive language. Gosh knows I have ears and can hear the FU__ word said these days as though the teens were saying a phrase like “you know” or “really”?

There are kids that chose wisely and a better route.

Tell me about them and I will give them some kudos, even that’s not what they were looking for.
I am hoping that by putting more great kids in the fore front they will set great examples for others and start a new better trend.

Email ideas for future stories to me at
