It’s always summer in my heart.

It’s no matter that I have lived in Las Vegas, NV several years now with the dust blowing around me and the rocks beneath my feet; it will always be summer in my heart and soul.

Me below at the Starbucks in The Stratosphere. The photo was taken a few days ago on the 11th of November.

I was born in Tucson, Arizona, also the desert Southwest, but for over 40 years of my life. Southern California was my home.

I was old enough to truly appreciate the blue expanse of the Pacific Ocean around me, the palm trees  calm of the beautiful flowers and all of the other  extraordinary scenery  of California.

It is where I went elementary school, Middle School, High School and college graduate School. Where I was married and 15 years later unfortunately divorced. But it’s also where I began discovering who I really was deep inside after being true to my inner voice, as I call my intuition.

I would love to lease a place there and yet keep my place in Vegas. That way, I could enjoy the uniqueness of both and do work with my old clients and discover new ones.

There are no perfect places to live, but ones that can never be forgotten, like the special people who have helped make me who I am.

I hope that what’s coming for me is like my paper whites blooming with twice the blooms they were supposed to have, my goals exceeding my expectations.

Have “Springtime in Autumn” by     Paulette L. Motzko & Watch “Forcing Paper Whites, a How-to Video with Glenwood Weber” on YouTube

I bought 20 beautiful large paperwhites about a month ago, and due to all the terrible weather events we had all over the world, they were delayed in the shipment. I contacted the people that I bought them from and one of the managers contacted me back and they were sent priority mail the next day.

Even though it’s Autumn here in Las Vegas, Nevada with very few if any fall leaves to be seen, I’m going to be creating “Springtime in Autumn” by forcing paperwhites indoors.

Bulbs are so easy to work with and you can keep them going for years. They’re awesome for a beginning gardener. Usually just plant them about 1/2 to 3 times deep of what the bulb size is; the planting directions will tell you.

Years ago in my first house in Sandy Utah, when I was married to the rocket scientist, Mark”s sweet and very generous grandmother Hazel Griffin sent us several hundred dollars worth of bulbs and I had fun playing them all over the yard in around the bhouse.

I kept those orchids going for many years after and they were absolutely gorgeous. There were jumbo gladiolus and red and yellow and tulips, because we got snow in Sandy, Utah which was 20 minutes away from Salt Lake City. It was just awesome living there. I wouldn’t do it now because of the high amount of snow Utah gets.  it’s great we can have a guy cleaning the driveway, and when you’re driving in a car everywhere you go. But for me who walks and uses lift and gets around a myriad of ways, it wouldn’t be logistically smart.  but I will always remember the extraordinary Panorama mountains and how it look like a painting, how clear it was from where we lived by the Wasatch mountains off to see the Capitol building we could see as clear as day. I would say that Sandy Utah Salt Lake City is the opposite of Las Vegas Nevada. They’re people with their doors open and as long as you were good people they were good to you. Here we have a high crime rate high fraud rate there’s weirdos and goofballs and drunks all over the place it’s the opposite of what that place was, and what many places are I like my place here and it is cheaper to live but there’s prices you pay for that.

Utah was beautiful country and that the Mormon people were so awesome so kind so nice because I learned all about there  and even though I didn’t believe what they did  we respected one another . I wish more people thought like that . You don’t have to agree with everybody just need to respect their viewpoints and their beliefs.

Around Christmas time at The Visitor Center, they spent about three months every year wiring lights all around Visitor Center it was absolutely gorgeous.
Back to the bulbs, you can keep bulbs going for years just by taking them out, if you live in an area where you can do daffodils outside, like I used to in Southern California, I naturalized them outdoors and my last house in Orange California with the now ex and, I had crocus coming up ‘the first to come up in the spring time and daffodils.

I love growing things this is the first place that I’ve had where I could actually do that and think of growing things once I learned how to do it here in the terribly hot  southwest desert.

I hope that by airing this video and buy me writing this, you’ll think of creating “Springtime at Autumn” where you live, and adding joy to your desk or your window sill by planting some really beautiful paperwhites

I ordered these around my birthday August 31st, which was the time they recommend to plant these. But, if you plant them (force them) indoors, you can have these going all year.

It’s kind of like having Springtime in your window sill are on your desk, which is what I’ll be having in about 2 weeks once I plant them.

I have everything but the little glass planter that you need to do these and gravel hydroponically.

I’m soon getting ready to head for church but I wanted to air this.

As I learn the world learns with me, and that’s just one of the cool thing about having a blog that’s read all over the world.

God bless you all.

If you’re Mormon, Muslim, Jewish, Agnostic, Atheist, Buddhist, and any other Christian faith, or don’t know what you believe, I bless you anyway and I hope that only good comes to you in every way.

We’re all the same on this planet and it really doesn’t matter. What matters is how you act and how you treat people it’s not the name your faith and it’s not how many times you go to church.

None of that matters what matters is who you are, what you do and what you bring to the world and what you want to leave the world as because you were in it.

Magical Garden Planter

I wanted something wonderfully beautiful that would inspire me as I write on my antique bamboo desk and saw this planter on Amazon Prime fell in love with it, read all the reviews before I bought it and everybody loved it too.

I bought the succulent plants through Fat Plants San Diego, whitch specialize in nothing but succulents, cacti if you will. I also got free shipping and 3 day delivery through Amazon Prime again. Not an ad for Amazon Prime it’s just what I do anybody who can afford the membership fee which is less than $100 a year, it’s totally worth it because you get the highest quality products for the lowest price and free shipping. You can even order groceries on Amazon Prime now, and it’ll be delivered within 2 hours free! Since Amazon bought Whole Foods Market I can get top organic produce for less than what I get in the store and they bring it to me.

It’s an answered prayer for someone who doesn’t drive like myself, some one who is busy or disabled.

Anyway, back to the making of my Magical Garden Planter.

  • You need one whimsical planter with three openings. I will share the one that I bought through Amazon Prime later on the site. Just choose something that inspires you something that when you look at it it really gives your heart Joy makes you want to smile, whatever that is.
  • Three small succulent plants.
  • One bag of succulent potting soil. The one that I swear by and is Hoffman’s Organic Cactus and Succulent Soil Mix. It really does make cacti bloom and grow!
  •  I created my succulent garden on my balcony it’s really wonderful because now that it’s Autumn I can go out on the bistro table and have a wonderful Alfresco lunch or dinner or sit out and eat breakfast and drink my morning coffee.
  • That also you get from Amazon Prime now and then they will ship it free awesome.
  • Succulents need very little water and when you water a succulent, you only water it in drips- and I’m not kidding you! It’s a totally different way to Garden from the way I did in Southern California.
  •  The planter that I chose has strain holes in it. Make sure that yours does too.

Simply fill with a succulent potting mix and then gently remove the Moss around each cacti, supporting the succulent leaves ever so gently pray you can remove the Moss around every Cactus with tweezers. They also make some succulent gardeners tools which helped tremendously with very fragile succulent plants.

Put indentation in each reservoir of the planter and then place the succulent in there, and gently cover with some more succulent mix.

For decorative purposes I use some exotic Pebbles and aggregates to go on the top to give it a really magical look make it look like a little fairy garden or a Little Gnome Village if you will.

You’ll see the finished product when I go do it. I thought that I would put on the how to since it looks so nice on my bamboo tray. If one of you out there decides to make something you never tried before, and see how easy it really is then great.

Also shown in the picture is a porcelain planter that goes in your window sill with a bamboo Bass, also got on Amazon Prime. I’m putting for small succulent plants in that and it’ll go in my window sill by my office where I write. That’s where my little magical  fairy garden is going.

I hope you like my little planter how-to as much as I enjoyed showing you.

The final picture will be up today of the finished planter.

    Be blessed always.
