Thank You from Paulette Motzko to the 26 New Followers in The Last 30 Days.

I would have more followers but I hear there’s no “follow me” button. I will be working on enhancing the features on the site to make that possible.

The great news is that my followers are tried-and-true, they are genuine, they are intelligent extraordinary individuals whose talents even defy my own comprehension at times. What I envisioned when I created this site in 2012 has become literal reality that is even superseded what my vision was of the best for the site. Every follower every reader has come back like a magnet attrated for all the right reasons -because I am genuine and as what am I long-standing Facebook friends Maria Lourdes Lipardo told me-“you are so transparent”. At the time she said it I didn’t quite know what that meant. Now years later I call it a high compliment.

The world is full of far too many Yes Men comply or go along with a crowd. I’ve never been that kind of person I always have been an individualist.

Because I was misunderstood as a child, I am the quickest to try and understand others, and another person’s point of view. Matters to me to understand communication is Paramount. Just as I was telling a nice lady at the station casino Grand Cafe earlier last night:

We’re all connected on the planet no matter what race color creed. It really doesn’t matter what our faith is but that we believe in something greater than ourselves we treat others with dignity. We don’t need to be like one another, life would be boring if we were. We can learn from each other’s differences and grow as people.

The sun is coming up here in Las Vegas now when I can see the white flowers on the huge Bush surrounding my picture windows blooming. I live upstairs and like it because I’m the one making the noise and its private and I can have a garden on my balcony and go out there anytime and be in my “desert oasis” I created over time.

As I was looking at my statistics here I noticed the atlas of the world filling in with the readership from Canada and many other countries that never read my blog prior.

Makes me a really feel gratified to know that the many hours that I invest in this site is appealing to all people and has become quite universal.

Thank you for all your contributions and comments app for putting a smile on my face everyday.

May every single person who reads this be blessed.

Baby Grand by Billy Joel and Ray Charles on Spotify

Compiled by Paulette Motzko.

Me on my Nanny’s Henry F Miller piano she brought with her from Florida to California when she can to live with us when I was 9 years old. Little would I know how that piano would become my best friend.

I haven’t played this song for some time  since I had my digital Roland 88 keyboard with incredible sampled sounds of a full size concert grand on it. Like many things, it was sold when  moved to Las Vegas. I have often thought of selling this other couch nobody ever sits on and getting a new 88 keyed awesome sampled digital piano with weighed keys. I would have way more FUN with it.

My upright rosewood grand with the dynamic range of a medium size grand piano came with me and sits awaiting my eager hands to play that very song Baby Grand that is the reason I bought the score you see in the picture.

Watch “Mel Blanc: The Man of a Thousand Voices” on YouTube

If you want to laugh or smile watch this. I was born in 1961 and so I grew up watching cartoons with Mel Blanc and his extraordinary voice, but I didn’t realize that all the voices on Looney Tunes it came from him!
I didn’t know him or see his face until much later on interviews.

This was hands down the best thing I’ve seen on YouTube in my life in my humble opinion.

Parts of this brought tears into my eyes and in other parts I marveled at how he built the characters and the animators animated around his voice.

He acted out the characters which I didn’t know, which explains why they sound so incredibly true to life when you hear them all on the old Looney Tunes cartoons.

If you’re a kid in this day and age and you haven’t heard one of them, go find an old Looney Tunes cartoon done in the 1960’s, about the time I was born, at the nearest movie store.

Also on the old Looney Tunes shows the musicians in the way it was produced with the orchestrations was a big part of it too because they orchestrated the cartoon adding drama just at the right times. The producers were geniuses on those Warner Brother cartoons. Nothing I’ve seen today impresses me as much. There’s no cartoon in history that’s ever done like the Looney Tunes was.

It was really more of an adult cartoon when I look at it.

I’m going to be 55 years young come August, (I am one of these women that doesn’t care about saying how old I am because I’m holding up pretty good and I don’t care.)

What an extraordinary human being Mel Blanc was and I applaud him for going to burn centers and giving joy and hope to countless children.

in the words of Mel Blanc don’t do anything for work unless you really love doing it and if you do love it won’t even be like work at all.

I grew up at a time in the sixties when CGI didn’t exist, when cell phones didn’t exist, when you had to look something up in the Encyclopedia Britannica to really look it up, and you had to go to the library and look up books using the ISBN number or the Dewey Decimal System. And in regards to Google, we’ll it just wasn’t invented yet.

The Internet hadn’t been invented or the satellite systems that would make it a realty. It was  something out in the cosmos waiting to be invented by ITT computer scientists so people like my ex-husband the rocket scientist would help send satellites up with Boeing on the Delta rocket putting satellites in the sky that made it work.

Here’s to simpler times and two extraordinary voices and extraordinary people like Mel Blanc women animators really drew the animation that you saw on the screen frame by frame.

So carve out a little over an hour and enjoy!

Hospitality Consists of……. (You fill in the blank)….

“Hospitality consists of a little fire, a little food, and an immense quiet.”-

Ralph Waldo Emerson

We all have a different opinion of what we think defines “hospitality”. To one it is solitude, as in Emerson’s mind’s eye. For me, hospitality is what I give others who come to my house, and what I hope they take away when they leave-great food, interesting conversation and fantastic memories.

I remember when I was married in my big nice 6 bedroom house at the winder time in Sandy, UT. Sitting around the fire place when it was snowing serving home made hot chocolate or spiced cider to my guests still evokes pleasant memories.

Pozole Party I had in October 2012

Pozole Party I had in October 2012

I love to have big parties and gatherings again in my new place I am going to-once I find it! It matters not the size of the group gathered around the table, but that you are there, It matters not what you share, but that you are sharing. Some of the meager loaves of bread and soup are grander feasts than the biggest buffets when served by genuine kind people that are giving the best they have to give.
