Carrots: Planting, Growing and Harvesting Carrot Plants | The Old Farmer’s Almanac & More!

My rainbow non-GMO carrots are two weeks old now and you can see the sprouts coming up in my reusable grow bags that I got.

This photo is 3 days old. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, it takes 2 months for a carrot to become fully matured. Once they start coming in more fully about a inch high, then I’m supposed to snip off some of the tops so that there about 3 inches apart from each other.

Updated carrot sprout photo will go here.

In my dinner tonight (below photo) which was homemade with both ground turkey and smoked turkey bacon. The recipe for my Smoked Turkey Meatloaf Italiano is on

I served it with some mashed potatoes made creamy with 2% milk and nonfat sour cream and natural shredded cheddar to flavor them. The sweetness of the baby carrots flavored only with fresh orange peel grated on them, was awesome.

You can add butter, margarine or vegan butter for more richness, if you want.

The carrots are so sweet and so good for you they have tons of vitamin A in them and if you eat any amount of these they will improve your eyesight over time plus there’s fiber and all kinds of good stuff, not to mention just plain good!

When you go to the Farmers Almanac website at www, you can put in your zip code and it will give you an entire planting guide for your area.

Plus, if you sign up for their mailing list, then you’ll get new recipes using fresh produce everyday in your email box.. There’s all sorts of really interesting information on website, right now they’re putting information on how to cook your holiday turkey and also how to survive blackouts in storms and other information that’s critical for most people at this time of year.

And all that from just searching on Google what do I do with my carrots, when they start growing and maturing.
