Thank heaven I have great calendars that tell me about all the holidays all over the world. I didn’t realize tomorrow is World Environment Day until looking at my cool weekly planner I bought from one of my favorite places in the world, Barnes & Noble.
To describe how much caring about the environment means to me, I would simply say that we need to take care of what matters to us- that includes people firstly, and topics that affect us all like the future of the world, our children and our environment, otherwise known as our home.
You need to look at the World Through New Eyes.
Think about the world not just in the present tense- the Here and Now- but stop and contemplate what our actions are doing to the world we live in.
That’s where that word environment comes into the picture.
Every action has a chain reaction in life.
What are your actions doing to try and help ensure that the world will still be here intact in 50 years, for people you and I will never even know. That’s not the point though.
This week I created a whole bunch of eco-friendly house cleaners, that amazingly work better than their chemical counterparts. I got the recipes from Mother Earth News, which I would recommend to anybody anywhere. The information contained within it’s pages far supersedes what you pay for the magazine.
Mother Earth Magazine has information about homeopathic remedies, and things that apply to almost anyone can benefit from reading it.
I was just reading Mother Earth Living early in the morning while savoring my coffee. …
As this article continues on, I will share some of the recipes that I created to clean my house. I am still astounded how effective they are and cheap to make. Probably every ingredient to make them are in your kitchen right now.
You’ll be rewarded a with clean house and feel gratified knowing but you just made a difference and what goes in our water system.
Do it yourself floor and all purpose cleaner
1 cup boiling water
1/4 cup borax
1 cup white vinegar
10 drops essential oil of your choice to give a nice scent
Simply bring to a boil, then add the borax and dissolve completely period and white vinegar and essential oil to mixture place in a 16 ounce spray bottle.
Becky Rapinchuk is the owner of Clean Mama, LLC and CleanMama.Net, and the author of Simply Clean 2017 and The Organically Clean Home 2014. This is her recipe.
Do it yourself shower cleaner recipe is from Leslie Reichert, who is a green cleaning Coach working to change the world one spray bottle at a time, as Mother Earth Living says.
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup rubbing alcohol
It drops tea tree oil
8 drops essential oil of your choice for scent.
Combine the ingredients and pour into a spray bottle and then spray walls and floor of your shower after each use. I found it really cleans the bathtub really well too and all the stainless steel, better than any cleanser I’ve ever seen! I bought a back scrubber that I didn’t really like that has a really long handle on it. I use it to scrub my shower with and my bathroom and it saves my back a lot cuz I don’t have to been quite so much. It works far better as a bathroom cleaner than it did a back scrubber! Haha
As Emerson said so beautifully, let us all “live in the sunshine, swim the Sea, drink the wild air!”
I will add to his words, ” for a very long time to come.”
