Je Te Veux by Satie, a One of my favorite French Waltzes

Years ago I had a Roland digital grand in my front room when I was living with Mom and Dad years ago in their large duplex in the second house.

On the demo was this song and it was the first time I ever heard it, but I knew I loved it and I wanted to play it special order the sheet music and when it arrived from Sam Ash I read on the notation from Eric Satie:

“To Madame Paulette”

When I went to go play it I found that the piece, just like some of Henry Mancini’s pieces like Peter Gunn or Ubie Blake’s jazz riffs, who all had massive hands- my hands weren’t large enough to play the extended octave harmonies in the song!

Oh well….one of those things on life we can’t change but live with.

I love the song anyhow as long as I have ears to hear to enjoy music with.

Adapting I’d the key to happiness in life and being satisfied with the what you have while aspiring for greater ventures.

My hands are large enough to play most every other thing though.

Enjoy Je Te Veux.
