Serene Sunday: Stories of Hope, Courage, and Positive Perspectives by Paulette Motzko

Today is Mother’s Day 2018 and I spent the day writing, going through things that my mom had given me through the years, putting up posts about mothers and how important their role is in the world is.

Without mothers civilization wouldn’t exist and each one of us greeting this sentence wouldn’t be here either without our mother to thank for a very existence!

I took myself to the Fiesta Rancho buffet and saw my friend Chef Romeo who made my stir fry with chicken and shrimp. It was awesome seeing many friends there.

My one plate stir fry masterpiece. For dessert I had fresh fruit, the sweetest, juicy cantaloupe, honeydew and seedless white grapes. I didn’t take a picture of them because I didn’t think they’d be that good! Perfect healthy ending for my dinner out.

I enjoyed seeing all the ladies with pink carnations in their hands at The Fiesta Rancho Casino today.

I had fun telling all the mothers “Happy Mother’s Day”, and seeing their faces beam with a big smile when I walked up to them.

I must be doing something right when people go from a plain expression to a huge smile when they see me coming in a distance. So much the traits that my mother possessed I have and I’m so grateful everyday that I had a phenomenal mother who taught me values and scruples and was artistic. She played piano and played guitar and sung and cooked, and painted and was able to make just about anything. Mom passed her creativity on to me, and even better she passed her attitude and values on to me too.

Her wisdom, goodness and kindness were and are priceless to me, as are the many technicolor memories of the things we did together will play on forever.
