This fabulous compilation of the wisdom gleaned from getting older covers a wide variety of topics: privilege, right speech, volunteer, ringing changes, changing woman, far memory, insight, listening, encouragement, breaking ground, nourishment, birds of passage, healing, team play, freedom, marriage, binding, tender mercy, body wisdom, light, the company of women, spirit, support, growing things, keeper of the flame, laughter, 100 gifts, return, precious days, the way the flower, children of war and caregiving.

I know the last topic well from being a caregiver to my mother Ramona, soon to be 85,  and her mother Ruby I changed diapers for.

She had my mother in 1931 and raised 5 children alone after my grandfather died if spinal menangitis.

My grandmother riveted airplanes in the war at a time when women just didn’t do that.

Both my grandmother’s and my Nanny were strong willed and set the pace of example for me as a young child.
It makes sense to me now at 53 years young why how I developed the “I can do anything kind of mentality I possess now, along with life’s tragedies and my health problems growing up

I know I got off topic of the book, but not in the sense that those who read it will be inspired.
